with my b2400hsd and ~47in bucket I used to cut the tree down and then cut it to the lengths that would just fit into the loader. Depending on the size either one or many logs will fit into one bucket. I stack them this way too until time to go to the splitter then the chainsaw comes out to cut to the final size. My woodstove took 24" pieces so this worked out perfectly.
I've seen the Long grapplers in use and they seem pretty tough.

Frank, my tc35d should be in it's "home" tomorrow afternoon with R4s. I opted for the r4s this time because about 80% of the time I'm not on soft turf, but hard/dry or soft, loose dirt/turf. I need some extra traction. My old b2400hsd had modified r4s where they we're quite as agreesive or deep, and the front tires we're regular turf tires. That's the way I bought it new. The front tires we're not too great on loose dirt unless the was a load in the bucket. I could dig a good hole with the rear tires trying to get a stump to give itself up. I could still leave tracts in soft soil with both fron and rear tires. I think the thing is that on soil if it's wet/soft your going to leave marks with any kind of tire. Now snow is another subject we don't have to deal with here. But slippery red clay is as bad and it sticks to everything.

I Settled on a local dealer after he came way down on the first negation price. I ended up with a out the door price of 18,795(including $80 sales tax) for a 2001 TC35D4 w/o SS with loaded rear tires, Grill Guard, 72” bucket, and the 50hr service(with pickup and delivery).
I opted for this over a very good dealer near Johnston City Tenn. West Hills Tractor Inc. They where very good folks to talk with and very prompt e-mailers. I was already to drive 5hrs(one way) to pick the same tractor up when out of the blue the local dealer called and coughed-up the lower deal. I’m suppose to take delivery of it here today, but I’m at work and it’s snowing/freezing rain, so I may put it off til tomorrow.
BTW the local dealer here in Raleigh NC is Senter Tractor NH and Kubota. One complaint I had that the salesman told me about the TC35D no SS was that it had the Sensitrak hydro even though it wasn’t a SS. After questioning him further he called and apologized for making a incorrect statement. I was actually worried about the longevity of the Senitrak anyway, so it worked out OK.
Do the prices up in NH have anything to do with the Canadians coming across the border and buying them? I know prices on most everything is higher across the boarder.

I'm aboout to make the plunge into the NH world.
I've decided on the tc35 for all the really cool features and size and power. I've got one offer for 18,500 with the loader 72" bucket and the grill guard(not standard) and loaded R4's. The cup holder didn't impress me too much, but it was good to see someone was thinking about us. What they designed into the cup holder they took away with the seat belt! The whole time I was driving it in the parking lot, so I opted not to put the SB on, the thing was banging up against the side of the tractor and the other(right side) was floping all over the place. That'l' be the first thing I do to it, is git ride of those and put in some spring loaded one like Kubota's.
